Romeika

Sisters, I give you permission to be a daughter of the King EVERYWHERE you go.

Dr. Romeika M. Ferguson-Adderley

Who are you?

I struggle with answering this because the society we live in has molded our thinking which directs how we respond to this question.

Who am I? Romeika is a committed and loyal individual. I have a heart to minister to two groups of people, (a) women and (b) young adults. There is much creativity inside of me as I love to sew and design and I am the owner of Fearless Creations.

I’ve attained and achieved a few awards and degrees BUT they don’t define who I am. Being a wife, mother, co-Pastor and Accountant are the umbrella under which I stand that allows me to fully live out who I am at my core!

Did you always dream of being where you are today? If no, then what was your dream?

I wanted to be a certified public accountant (CPA) and work as an accountant, get married and live “under the radar” happily ever after.

What moment or conversation changed your life?

After Zhivago and I got married, I realized he had the call to Pastor on his life and I felt like running away as I realized that God had set me up. Also, after meeting a professor of Adult Education in the Masters program at the University of South Florida and listening to her share the plight of education and living for African-Americans in America due to systemic issues in my heart, I knew that there had to be another way to do things.

What lesson learned is guiding you through life?

Not everyone who listens to your dreams understands them, wants to see them realized or will help you achieve them.
